Did you know that biking is one of the easiest ways to get exercise? Well, according to the Outdoor Foundation, biking is the second most popular outdoor activity in the United States and the cool thing is that it's free, and you can do it just about anywhere!
Along with being a great way to get out and experience the world around us, biking is one of best exercises for our bodies. Here are some of the many health benefits of biking:
- Biking builds and tones your muscles.When you are riding your bike, you aren't just getting a leg workout, you are getting a full body workout! Over time, you will be able to see your legs, hips, and thighs getting more tone.
- Biking improves cardiovascular fitness and improves heart health. Everybody wants to improve their heart, so what better way to do it than a ride around the park on your bike? According to the British Medical Association, biking 20 miles a week can reduce your risk of coronary disease by 50%!
- Biking can relieve stress. Any type of exercise can relieve stress, but biking allows you to get outside and breathe the fresh air and enjoy the world around you.
- Biking also improves coordination, burns calories, lowers blood pressure, builds strong bones, improves joints, and most importantly it is FUN!
Biking is a fun and free way to get out and get active. It's a low impact exercise, so no matter what your fitness level, anybody can do it. So get outside, grab your bike and your helmet, and starting biking your way to better health!
